"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" Designer Michael Moloney To Appear In CaesarStone's Booth At K/BIS
LAS VEGAS (May 10, 2005) — Quartz countertop manufacturer Caesarstone announces the appearance of celebrity designer Michael Moloney, from ABC’s popular “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” at the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show & Conference (K/BIS) in Las Vegas. Moloney will sign autographs, pose for photos and share his passion for interior design in Caesarstone’s booth #3957 on Tuesday, May 10, from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
As the designer in charge of interiors and glamour on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” Moloney plays a major role in the complete renovation of the chosen family’s run-down home. Each week, the “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” cast and team of 100 workers have seven days to complete a project that would normally take four months to achieve. Each makeover brings great happiness to the deserving families, which have included: A couple expecting triplets, eight children who had just lost their parents, and an entire community whose homes were flooded during a hailstorm.
As a popular contributor to “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” Caesarstone had the opportunity to provide kitchen countertops for several families:
- The Wofford Family house. Originally aired Sept. 26, 2004.
- The Garay Family house. Originally aired Oct. 3, 2004.
- The Pope Family house. Originally aired Oct. 10, 2004.
- The Mackey Family house. Originally aired Oct. 24, 2004.
“We enjoyed working with Michael on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” last year, and he was the first person that came to mind when we started planning our K/BIS activities,” said Arik Tendler, president of Caesarstone. “Michael is a fabulous designer and he really knows how to turn a room into a showpiece. We like to think that the same can be said of a Caesarstone quartz countertop. Whether used in a kitchen, bathroom or laundry room, Caesarstone makes a room simply beautiful.”
After spending 10 years in the fashion industry, Michael Moloney translated his design concepts to homes in 1993. Blending the new and the practical with the timeworn charm of things “not exactly perfect” has been Moloney’s look from the beginning of his design career.
Twelve years ago, the Palos Verdes, Calif. native set out to combine his love of shopping and knowledge of design to create a new type of antique store in Redondo Beach, Calif. The store, Le Garage, combines vintage treasures found at flea markets all over the country, new accessories and giftware. Moloney’s eclectic, fresh approach to decorating took off. A few years later he opened Maison Luxe in Manhattan Beach, Calif., taking the original look to the next level by providing all things luxurious from France and Italy, where he travels several times a year.
In addition to ABC’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,” Moloney’s television credits include “Christopher Lowell,” “Next Door with Katie Brown,” Kitty Bartholomew’s “You’re Home,” HGTV’s “Designers’ Challenge,” and “Clean House” on the Style Network.
