CaesarStone announces four groundbreaking new recycled colors
Van Nuys CA (October 31, 2010): CaesarStone is pleased to announce four groundbreaking new recycled colors rounding out an astonishing eight environmentally friendly colors in the Environment First collection.
CaesarStone as a company always puts the Environment First. Whether it’s through our manufacturing practices, our corporate day-to-day office functions, our trash, or our production. Giving back to the earth is always at the forefront of our consciousness. At CaesarStone we feel that there is no wrong way to recycle, so we do so in any way possible. This focus has led us to produce four groundbreaking new Recycled Colors, brought to you with a purpose and process that is completely unique to CaesarStone. Introducing Marrone, Carbone, Starry Night and Spring Blossom.
These four new colors round out a jaw dropping collection of eight Colors in the Recycled collection lineup, giving you choices. There is never a need to sacrifice style for sustainability. For our eight colors we have two unique manufacturing processes that we feel make this earth a cleaner place to live.
Firstly we offer a local Recycling Program. We developed this Recycling Program as a solution to the Quartz waste generated by stonemasons. As with all of our products we have strict quality control systems in place. Only the finest in quality and durability reach the hands of our customers so naturally there are surfaces that don’t make the cut. These scraps do not go to waste however. They are collected and sent to our manufacturing plant to create new surfaces. This program was established in 2007 and has already prevented over 2400 Quartz surfaces from ending up in a landfill. We are the ONLY Quartz surface manufacturer to recycle remnants from the fabrication process to create new products and are very proud to do so.
As a result of this groundbreaking Recycling Program we are able to offer you our newest Recycled colors: Marrone, Carbone, Starry Night and Spring Blossom. These new colors have been met with great enthusiasm from our customers not only because of their beauty and versatility, but also because of their story and attainability. It is our belief that everyone cares about the environment. A lot of us just aren’t able to make the necessary changes in our homes to protect it because of the steep prices associated with anything “green” in the current marketplace.
“CaesarStone is proud to be the only Quartz surface to offer Recycled colors from our own manufacturing remnants. We feel that protecting the Environment is our corporate responsibility. We want our customers to be able to do the same in their own homes. That is why making these products affordable is of the utmost importance. We are pleased to offer our Recycled products at the same price points as our other CaesarStone surfaces so that the choice to “go green” doesn’t have to be so hard.”
Arik Tendler, President of CaesarStone US
CaesarStone is not only concerned with its own production remnants but other manufacturers’ as well prompting the company to recycle those as well. Glass and mirrors from car window manufacturers are collected and re-used to create Ruby Reflections, Quartz Reflections, Smoky Ash and Chocolate Truffle.
Like all of CaesarStone’s surfaces, all eight colors in the Recycled collection are heat, stain and scratch resistant and most importantly come with a Residential Lifetime Warranty, something else you can’t get with any of our Quartz competitors.
“For something to truly be sustainable it must not be disposable. The key to being “eco” today is to be using Recycled products with longevity otherwise the point has been missed. It doesn’t matter what something is made of if you are going to toss it in the trash a year later.”
Continues Tendler, President of CaesarStone US
CaesarStone is a big believer in these programs and wants their customers to know exactly how these surfaces are produced and rest assured that these surfaces are what they are promised to be. That is why all of our products are certified and in compliance with voluntary safety and Environmental standards. As well as complying with health, safety and Environmental regulations at our manufacturing plant, CaesarStone is committed to supporting voluntary programs and achieving independent certification for key initiatives. These include the following:
CaesarStone takes pride in being the world's first quartz surface to have its Environmental Management System certified to comply with ISO 14001. ISO 14001 is the international standard for Environmental regulations. Additionally CaesarStone has an Occupational Health and safety management system independently certified to OHSAS 18001 to control health and safety risks.
CaesarStone’s recycled products were also the first quartz surfaces to be approved and certified by SCS (Scientific Certification Systems), specifying the amount and type of their pre-consumer content. Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) is a global leader in independent certification and verification of environmental, sustainability, stewardship, food quality, food safety and food purity claims. All of CaesarStone’s quartz surfaces comply with American GEI (GREENGUARD Environmental Institute) certification, which verifies that CaesarStone’s products meet the most stringent indoor air emission standards. GREENGUARD Children & Schools standard, evaluates the sensitive nature of school populations combined with the unique building characteristics found in schools, and presents the most rigorous product emissions criteria to date. And finally CaesarStone is a member of the Green Building Council.
At CaesarStone we believe that all of these seals and certifications help hold companies accountable and are our responsibility to our customer. We want you to know that we practice what we preach and feel that in doing so we are giving back to the Earth in the best way we can. The Environment should always come first.
