From Reality TV to Real Life: Caesarstone Helps Celebrate a Community Hero
3 min read

Two of Caesarstone’s popular surface materials were recently featured in a “George to the Rescue” home renovation for a New Jersey family. The reality show, hosted by George Oliphant, brings together designers and contractors to transform the homes of deserving families — often helping them adapt to disabilities or overcome personal hardships.
The Nov. 1, 2025, episode spotlighted Anthony Romano, a beloved New Jersey delivery man who retired after nearly 40 years of serving his community. Romano and his family received a stunning kitchen remodel and a backyard transformation. Oliphant, who is also an ordained minister, not only helped oversee the renovations but also officiated Anthony and his wife Sally’s backyard vow renewal.
Designers chose Caesarstone ICON™ for the new kitchen and Caesarstone Porcelain for the outdoor grill area on the deck — durable, stylish surfaces that brought the family’s dream home to life.
For the Romanos’ new kitchen, the show’s design team selected Caesarstone ICON for both the countertops and the island. Introduced earlier this year, Caesarstone ICON is an advanced fusion surface and a signature choice not only for its beauty but also for its innovation — it’s crystalline silica-free* and made with approximately 80% recycled materials.
Featuring a soft, off-white tone interlaced with gentle veining in earthy hues and deep golden accents, Rossa Nova perfectly complemented the kitchen’s new green cabinets and hardware.
The expansive island gives the Romanos plenty of space for cooking and family activities. The island overhang provides additional seating in the heart of the home: the kitchen. The family was thrilled to have a new space large enough to cook together.
“The kitchen is to die for — it’s a dream kitchen,” remarked Romano during the episode’s big reveal.
Caesarstone’s Joseph Esposito was also featured on the episode, sharing details on the surface materials used in the renovation. In addition to Caesarstone ICON in the kitchen, the renovation project used Caesarston Striata porcelain countertops for the outdoor kitchen.
With its smoky gray base that mimics weathered rock, Striata’s strong earthy presence is reflected in a complex structure of fine dark veins. It blended perfectly with the deck and nearby stamped concrete patio.
The nonporous porcelain makes it a hygienic choice for outdoor food preparation. Specifically engineered for outdoor use, it resists UV rays and extreme weather, ensuring Striata’s geological landscape remains fresh and beautiful for the Romano family for years to come.
Caesarstone surface materials were the perfect option for the “George to the Rescue” design team and the Romano family. Wondering how our countertops can elevate your next project? Order a sample and see for yourself how our surfaces can elevate your space.
