Actress Sophia Bush is best known for playing Brooke Davis on the TV show One Tree Hill in the 2000s and more recently Erin Lindsay in the police drama series Chicago P.D. Her Hollywood experience also includes directing and producing, and, most recently, Bush added another credential to her resume – interior designer.
With the help of talented creatives and ELLE Décor, a power design team transformed a Hollywood Hills 1,600-square-foot 1950’s bungalow into a midcentury property that dreams are made of. “Restoring this house and bringing it back to its midcentury splendor has been such a joy,” she says. Bush worked in collaboration with ELLE Décor along with interior designer Jake Alexander Arnold, landscaper John Alden Sharp, and contractor Orie Prince on the yearlong renovation of the home that resides on the property next to her main residence.
One of the standout features of the reimagined home is the dramatic 13-foot-long custom kitchen island that is topped with Caesarstone 4001 Fresh Concrete, a crisp neutral enriched by delicate grey features with a matte finish. The lightly colored concrete design breathes warmth and organic energy into any room. “I wanted a kitchen that was functional AND beautiful. The countertops are Caesarstone’s Fresh Concrete. They are stunning and warm,” said Bush. With the addition of light wood accessories, fresh greenery, and white cabinets, the spaces feels earthy, bright, and airy.
Other features we love in this feel-good home include th§e wall of windows that light up the living area along with the B&B Italia sectional by Mario Bellini, vintage Eames screen, and Marc Phillips rug that give the room a chic modern vibe.
