A Fresh Chapter in Laguna Niguel  

Caesarstone Aterra Blanca and Calacatta Nuvo bring warmth, natural movement, and visual harmony to a thoughtfully refreshed Southern California home. 

When Nitche Interiors first stepped into this Laguna Niguel home, the team saw a well-loved family home with strong character and a functional layout, but finishes that no longer reflected the empty-nester homeowners’ current lifestyle. The goal was not to reinvent the home, but to preserve what made it special while introducing timeless materials, custom cabinetry, and thoughtful details. 

Designed around the relaxed indoor-outdoor living Southern California is known for, the remodel created warm, connected spaces that feel refined yet approachable. Every material was selected to complement the home’s wood tones, tile, paint, and natural elements, resulting in a refreshed interior that feels comfortable, cohesive, and uniquely personal.

Aterra Blanca in the Kitchen 

For the kitchen countertops, the design team selected Caesarstone Aterra Blanca.  

Its organic veining introduces movement and depth while maintaining a light, calming appearance. The pattern has a natural quality that complements the home’s timeless design direction and helps connect the surrounding finishes. 

Aterra Blanca’s tones work in harmony with the kitchen’s tile, wood, paint, and natural materials. The surface adds character without competing with the room’s custom details, allowing the entire space to feel cohesive and considered. 

As the visual center of the home, the kitchen needed a countertop that felt special while remaining versatile. Aterra Blanca provided the right balance: expressive enough to serve as a design feature, yet subtle enough to support the warm and inviting atmosphere the homeowners wanted. 

Extending Aterra Blanca into the Guest Bathroom 

Aterra Blanca also appears throughout the guest bathroom, creating continuity between the home’s shared spaces. 

In addition to the bathroom countertop, the material was used across several architectural and functional details, including: 

• The top and side of the pony wall 

• All three sides of the shower curb 

• The top and front of the shower bench 

• The back and surrounding sides of the shower niche 

Using the same surface across these elements gives the bathroom a tailored, intentional appearance. It also allows the veining to become a subtle recurring detail rather than limiting the material to the vanity. 

The result is a guest bathroom that feels elevated and cohesive, with carefully finished surfaces that contribute to the room’s sense of craftsmanship. 

Calacatta Nuvo-Honed in the Primary Bathroom 

For the primary bathroom, Nitche Interiors selected Caesarstone Calacatta Nuvo Honed. 

Like Aterra Blanca, Calacatta Nuvo H offers veining inspired by the movement and character found in natural stone. Its pattern brings interest to the room while maintaining the restful, refined quality desired for the homeowners’ private retreat. 

The material was used for the primary bathroom countertop as well as several custom shower elements: 

• The top and side of the pony wall 

• All three sides of the shower curb 

• The top and front of the shower bench 

• The back and surrounding sides of the shower niche 

Carrying the surface beyond the vanity creates a polished and unified design. Each application feels connected, giving the bathroom a sense of visual rhythm and thoughtful completion. 

The colors within Calacatta Nuvo H also help bridge the surrounding tile, wood, paint, and natural elements. Rather than introducing a separate or competing statement, the surface draws the room’s palette together. 

Choosing Veining with the Right Balance 

The Caesarstone selections were driven by both appearance and atmosphere. 

The homeowners and design team wanted surfaces that would bring life to the rooms without making them feel overly dramatic. Aterra Blanca and Calacatta Nuvo H offered veining that was noticeable and distinctive, but still soft enough to complement the home’s other materials. 

The patterns also captured a quality the team appreciated in natural stone. Their organic movement helped the newly remodeled spaces feel layered and timeless, while their colors created a visual connection between the tile, cabinetry, wood finishes, paint, and other natural details. 

This balance was especially important in a home designed for everyday living. The surfaces needed to feel elevated, but never precious or overly formal. 

A Thoughtful Transformation 

Today, the Laguna Niguel home feels refreshed while retaining the character that first drew the homeowners to it. 

The open living spaces are suited to the couple’s current routines, while the custom finishes and carefully selected materials give the home a renewed sense of warmth and purpose. Every detail contributes to an environment that feels comfortable, refined, and uniquely theirs.

Madison Serrano, Designer 

Madison Serrano earned a Bachelor of Arts in Design and an Associate of Arts in Visual Communications from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. 

A member of the Nitche Interiors team for seven years, Madison brings strong creative intuition to both her design work and client communication. Her thoughtful perspective helps translate each client’s needs into interiors that feel cohesive, functional, and personal.
