CAESARSTONE, THE QUARTZ SURFACING COMPANY THAT BECAME A SUCCESS

Van Nuys, CA (March 2, 2009) Ten years ago Arik Tendler came to the United States to introduce this country to something called quartz surfacing. Today, the company, CaesarStone US, has seven divisions, 11 distributors and sales have gone to $80 million in that short time period.

According to a recent industry report, the consumer demand for quartz surfacing has gone from 35.5 millions of square feet in 2006 to a predicted 50.7 in 2011. From 2004 to 2008 CaesarStone US’s sales have risen 460%. The company makes up 40% of the quartz industry.

“Lack of information has really helped me,” explained Tendler as one of the reasons for his success. “I would guess if I knew where I was going I would not do it.”

Quartz surfaces are nonporous, stain, scratch and heat resistant. CaesarStone offers multiples textures and finishes as well as over 40 colors for countertops and many other applications. A few of the most common uses for the surfaces are kitchen countertops, bathroom vanities and fireplace surrounds, but there are dozens of other application possibilities. In February of last year, the company began offering a lifetime warranty on all residential projects.

CaesarStone, the parent company, invented quartz surfacing in 1987. The company is owned and run by a kibbutz in Caesarea, Israel on the banks of the Mediterranean Sea. All of the materials are created at the factory.
