Debuting at L.A. Mart® Design Center During NeoCon® West, March 27-28, 2006; Installation Designed by Award-Winning Architectural Firm, Tighe Architecture
Sun Valley, CA (Feb. 21, 2006) - CaesarStone® quartz surfaces is proud to announce its participation in "Fine Living: 2026," a live/work lifestyle installation of L.A. DesignWeekTM during NeoCon® West taking place March 27-28. Produced by L.A. Mart® Design Center and Balcony Media's LA Architect and LA Inside magazines, "Fine Living: 2026" is designed by the four-time National AIA award-winning architectural firm of Tighe Architecture, located in Los Angeles. A boutique design show, NeoCon West features new materials and innovative products in applied design settings.
Encompassing 1,300 square feet within the L.A. Mart/NeoCon West second-floor exhibit hall, "Fine Living: 2026" explores how design, technology and new product innovations, coupled with "person-centered" design concepts, address the transforming individual, occupational and recreational needs and desires of the 21st century homeowner. The design also merges technologically advanced materials with organic, sustainable and rapidly renewable resources to create an environmentally responsible home.
Patrick Tighe, principal of Tighe Architecture, chose to incorporate CaesarStone into the space with an alternative application versus the material's more well-known countertop application. Visitors to the installation will look upwards to see CaesarStone extending as a continuous single piece of quartz material over the entire lounge/tech center, uniting all three purpose-driven spaces.
"Being part of the 'Fine Living: 2026' project has been a remarkable experience," said Arik Tendler, president of CaesarStone. "We've thoroughly enjoyed witnessing Tighe's creative design process and his use of CaesarStone. While CaesarStone is recognized throughout the industry as a great countertop material, many consumers and industry professionals aren't aware that our quartz material can also be used beautifully for floors, walls or even staircases. It's our hope that the 'Fine Living: 2026' installation will help architects and designers explore new ideas in unique applications."
